December, 2018 61 Update

Your class maintains an active presence at campus – Mike Hoben, Ed Watters and Paul Smith remain on the Ethics Endowment Advisory Committee which reached major. Endowment status with a bequeath by Pete Hagerman. Being good stewards we have added Kari Ariente ’86 and Christopher Chew ’11 to maintain the focus on values in decision making for all Lehigh students. An annual Hagerman Ethics Lecture has brought Karly Fiorina and Samantha Powers to campus for the first 2 lectures-not a bad start. Similarly, Ed Watters is diligently establishing our 611 Scholarship to be a permanent annual award by the classes of 61 and 2011.

In the near future we will outline plans for taking the 611 Scholarship to the Endowment level by our 60th Reunion. We plan to partner with our adopted class of 2011 as part of their 10th Reunion.

Add this to our previous contributions and we are leaving quite a legacy. We should be proud of what we are leaving behind at Lehigh.

Now, if only we can recreate the Parade Magic of the 50th Reunion. Enjoy Christmas, Hanukah or whatever holiday satisfies and keep the 60th in your plans.
